Corte Bernardi 1321 Bed and Breakfast
in Venice
A block from the Grand Canal and three
blocks from the Rialto bridge, this handsome set
of rooms in Venice are perfect for
experiencing the most unique and beautiful city in
the world. A bed and breakfast, with its own
garden, these four accommodations
offer a great deal of flexibility and
convenience.
Located on a typical Venetian street between
Campo S. Silvestro and Campo S. Polo, the second
largest square in Venice, you will be
able to experience the enchantment of Venice as
you step out your door. The closest canal is the
Rio dei Meloni and the Grand Canal is only a block
away. A short walk takes you to the Rialto bridge
that you can use to cross to the Saint Mark's side
of the canal, or you can take a water ferry
across.
Located just minutes on foot from the center of Venice,
B&B Bernardi is a quiet oasis in one of the
most beautiful cities in the world. Rialto Bridge
is a five-minute walk and St. Mark's Square is
only a 20-minute stroll. In addition, Bernardi is
very close to the San Silvestro vaporetto (water
bus) stop and can be reached without crossing a
bridge. Those with luggage will find that very
welcoming.
Thus after arriving in Venice either via train
or car, our guests are able to jump aboard the
number one Vaporetto and arrive at San Silvestro
in 30 minutes. It is a wonderful way to begin your
journey to Venice -- via the water that has
defined Venetian culture for centuries.
Walk out the front door and not only do you
find some of the best restaurants in town, but you
are minutes away from the Rialto open market.
Fruit, vegetables, fish, and meats can be found
every morning fresh and popping with color. A
supermarket and baker are located on the corner. A
bank is right next to the supermarket and news
stand.
At B&B Bernardi, you are welcomed into a
delightful courtyard, which is awash in greenery
and color. The courtyard is private,
intended for the use of our guests only. And
breakfast is served there daily (weather
permitting). It is also available for an aperitivo
in the evening or just a comfortable afternoon
snooze. B&B Bernardi is a part of a 15th
century palazzo. The entire property has been
recently renovated and the rooms are handsomely
decorated, spacious, and filled with modern
conveniences.
Each room has been furnished with handmade beds
and distinctive furniture keeping in the style of
mixing the old with the new. Two American women -
mother and daughter - run the property. Deborah,
the mother moved to Venice almost two years ago.
Her daughter, Amelia, has lived in Venice for
almost a decade. Amelia is fluent in Italian and
very helpful in helping the guests navigate
Venice. Together they have brought this beautiful
B&B to life.
