- Penthouse Apartment in the Center of Venice
Warm wood, cool whites and contemporary art decorate
this two bedroom apartment in the heart of Venice. A Murano
glass chandelier hangs over the living room.
An ancient fireplace separates the living room area
from the dining room. To the left of the dining room
table is the kitchenette. The coffee table as well as
some other small pieces found around the apartment has a
rectilinear design in various colored woods.
The dining room table is made of a beautiful slab of
wood that retains the tapering shape of the tree trunk.
An intriguing cabinet decorated with collage hangs
between the windows that overlook a little "campiello"
below.

The bedroom on the main floor has a queen sized bed,
bedside tables, and an armoire (on the right side of the
photo) decorated with a design made solely of pages from
old books.
The bathroom on the main floor opens to the bedroom
and also to the dining room, to the right of the
kitchenette. A crystal chandelier lights a contemporary
sink. There is a walk-in shower with a basin made of
stone and a large overhead rain-style showerhead.
A graceful, intricately wrought stair case rises from the
entry to the second floor.
The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with
tableside lamps. Two windows with rooftop views bring in
light. The ancient fireplace is decorative.

A room with two closets decorated in the same manner
as the armoire on the main floor connects the bedroom
with this bathroom. The bathroom has a fascinating blue
and white tile mosaic as well as a rectangular platform
sink and bath tub tucked somewhat under the eves.
This stair case appears to rise unsupported to the
rooftop deck. Underneath you can see a day bed that
sleeps one.
Emerge from the apartment onto a sun lit deck.
Benches have cushions for you to lounge on to enjoy the
view. This photo was taken at about 8am on a Sunday with
all the churches of Venice calling the faithful with
their bells.
