Villa Ristoro is actually a collection of six farm buildings transformed into vacation cottages and apartments. They are scattered about the small town you see on the hilltop in this photo.

The village center is charming. Here is one of the four restaurants with tables set outside under the awnings. 

When we walked by during the evening, the neighbors had set out four tables in the space on the right side of the picture and there were some enthusiastic card games taking place.

The buildings are a mixture of medieval and more recent. The way of the Cross is posted on ceramic plaques throughout the town.

One of the two food stores, a fresh fruit and vegetable market that also carries other necessities.

The town center has a play ground and also a small soccer field. The old town water pump still works. It is possible that not all residents have running water.

One day a week, a market comes to town and sets up in this piazza. A dozen vendors sell everyday necessities out of vans.

The town bulletin board shows cultural events in the region, a "festa" for liberation that appears to be a leftist political event, and three death notices.

The Tuscany countryside has had a renaissance in recent decades with tourism adding to the perennial agricultural income. Most days we found several pensioners conversing in the park. Women on one bench, men on the other, all returned our greetings and were ready for a chat.

Another restaurant and the town grocery store that has all the necessities.

For completeness, here's the final commercial area of town with a hardware and garden store and a hair dresser. A three-wheeled Ape," bee" delivery vehicle buzzes by.

Villa Valle is the complex closest to town. It has two independent cottages and four apartments in the main building.

The pool at Villa Valle is very nice; on two levels. The pool house has a bathroom and shower as well as a covered area.

At Villa Valle next to the pool is a veranda with tables and a fusball table. A nice place for kids to gather.

Villa Valle - Margherita is a small independent cottage with a private patio.

Sleeps 2+2 – 700 sq ft, 65 sqm. An independent cottage with a little tower (the former dovecote?) on three levels. On the ground floor is a large living room with dining area and kitchen with oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and four burner stove top, and bathroom with shower and bath tub. The mezzanine level has a closet and the third level is an open room with a queen sized bed. Double sofa bed available in the living room.

Villa Valle - Violetta is a two floor apartment with a private patio near the pool veranda. Beyond is a view of the countryside. 

Sleeps 4+2 – 700 sq ft, 65 sqm - Two floor apartment with a private terrace with table and chairs and barbecue. 

Villa Valle - Violetta has a comfortable living room with the dining area and kitchen at one end. Exposed beams and stone walls add to the charm.

Ground floor with large room that contains the living room area, dining area and kitchen with oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and four burner stove top. On the second floor there is a bedroom with queen sized bedroom and through a bedroom with bunk beds, a bathroom with tub and separate step-in shower. Double sofa bed in the living room. 

Villa Valle - Violetta's kitchen and dining area is separated visullay from the kitchen by the typical Tuscan architectural element. (Did you know that the Etruscans developed the arch?)

Villa Valle - Violetta's view is out the living room and kitchen windows. That is the roof of Margherita you see on the right.

Villa Valle - Ciclamino is a small independent cottage with a private patio and a wonderful view across the valley.

Sleeps 4 + 2 – 915 sq ft, 85 sqm. Two floor stone cottage with a private and spacious covered terrace furnished with table and chairs. 

Villa Valle - Ciclamino has a comfortably sized living room/ dining area with a kitchen along one side with oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and four burner stove top, and half bath. On the second floor is a bedroom with queen sized bed and second bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom with shower over tub. Double sofa bed available in the living room.

Villa Valle - Lilla's living room has a hearth, decorative at this time.  is a small independent cottage with a private patio and a wonderful view across the valley.

Sleeps 4 – 1075 sq t, 100 sqm. A second floor apartment reached by a private staircase. Private covered terrace outside. Large living room with dining area and kitchen with oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and four burner stove top. Bedroom with queen sized bed, twin bed room and two bathrooms, one with step-in shower and one with bath tub

Villa Valle - Lilla's twin bedroom can be made up with one large bed or two.
