The ancient village clusters around the Niccolo
Castle at the top of a hill overlooking the dramatic
rolling hills of Chianti, Tuscany. Grape vines, olive
trees produce products with the castle's name.
Photos and layouts of the cottages and apartments are
below.

The sun soaked pool with the castle above for a
heavenly day under the Tuscan sun. The sun moves across
the pool during the day, leaving it in shade in the late
afternoon.

Below the castle are rolling lawns and, here, just
above the pool, a large terrace with a barbecue and
covered tables for dining al fresco or a game of cards.
Some of the houses have private terraces and barbecues
and others can share this welcoming location.

The Etruscans (origin of the word Tuscany) invented
the arch so the arched openings and arches within wall
structures are very typical of Tuscan homes.
Here, in Canonica you can peek through the dining
room arch into the large living room. The apartment
features a separate living and dining room as well as a
private patio.

Canonica
Such a charming and rustic room with the old
fireplace, ancient beamed ceiling and warm carpet. It is
narrow but the three openings into the dining open it up
visually. And it is well-equipped.

eat-in kitchen. The antique table adds preparation
space.
