Elegant Lode apartment is on the second floor (American designation) of Palazzo Santa Croce. This is the "piano nobile" the floor where the noble family received guests and showed off their best rooms and art. There is no elevator, 26 steps.

The frescoed walls of the living room help you imagine the formal receptions of the time when they were painted in the 1600s. The wood beam ceilings are original to the 1500s when the palazzo was built. The living room overlooks Piazza Santa Croce.

Two sofa beds in the living room sleep two more, one each.

The tradition of frescoes continues the the bedroom with pretty trompe l'oeil paintings on the wall.

The bedroom features a king sized bed. The ensuite bathroom is all in marble with shower over tub and separate, step-in shower. 

The eat-in kitchen has a country feel and seats up to six people.
